\n Meet Spinner Spinne, the hero of our WIDI children's program 2026. A story about courage, being different, and true friendship, showing that spiders aren't monsters, but artful, brave little creatures.\n <\/p>\n \n <\/i> To the WIDI Children's Program\n <\/a>\n <\/div>\n

\n A web of courage and friendship\n <\/h2>\n\n

\n At the very top of the attic in a small house lives the little spider Spinnfried. He is no ordinary eight-legged creature \u2013 no, Spinnfried is an artist. With his delicate threads, he weaves intricate webs that sparkle and shine when the sunbeams stream through his attic window.\n <\/p>\n

\n But Spinnfried has a huge problem. He is very shy. No, worse \u2013 he's really scared. Scared of the world out there. He's heard stories: about mean spiders, grumpy beetles, and nasty bees, little humans who hunt spiders and big humans who catch them and carry them away because they don't like spiders. So he prefers to stay inside. Alone.\n <\/p>\n

\n And because he worries so much, and the feeling of cold oppressed him, he begins to knit. He knits himself eight socks\u2014one for each of his long little legs. And so that it wouldn't be so boring, he chooses a different color for each sock. This makes his feet look very colorful in his monotonous and sometimes boring everyday life, and at the same time brightens his inner self.\n <\/p>\n

\n Day after day, Spinnfried sits in his comfortable attic room, spinning his webs and sighing softly. \u201eNo one sees how beautiful my art is,\u201c he mutters. \u201eBut to go out... I don't dare.\u201c\n <\/p>\n

\n But one morning, as he had just gotten up and opened the window, a strong wind blew through the open window. The wind whizzed through Spinnfried's room and tugged at one of his most beautiful webs \u2013 and zap! \u2013 it fluttered away.\n <\/p>\n

\n Spinnfried gasps for air excitedly. \u201eMy artwork! My favorite web!\u201c Without hesitation, he tremblingly jumps up, puts on his eight colorful socks, gathers all his courage, and climbs out the window. With a very long spider silk thread, he lowers himself down \u2013 and lands outside. Outside! The world smells of earth and adventure. He's truly scared because everything is so big and so loud. And so new. At the same moment, Spinnfried notices that in his excitement climbing out, he unfortunately lost one of his great socks. Oh dear, now there are only seven colorful socks left.\n <\/p>\n

\n When he reaches the ground, he hears a voice loud and clear: \u201eOh! Who are you?\u201c He is very startled and can barely bring himself to look around. Then he hears the question again, and when he turns around, a beetle stands there: \u201eI'm Konrad the Beetle and I'm about to go for a walk. Would you like to come along?\u201c\n <\/p>\n

\n But Spinnfried quickly explained to Konrad that he didn't have time now because he had to look for his web that the wind had carried away. Without further ado, Konrad said he would just help him and come along. And so both of them walked towards the garden, where they could already see the beautiful, sparkling web.\n <\/p>\n

\n Upon reaching the web, Konrad the beetle marveled at the beautiful web the wind had blown into the garden. \u201eI've never seen anything so beautiful!\u201c cried Konrad, \u201eYou're a great artist! Why did you hide for so long?\u201c\n <\/p>\n

\n Spinnfried smiles shyly, \u201eI, I... was scared. Scared of being different and scared of people, who are so much bigger than me. When I think back, it felt very cold to be so alone, because I didn't find the courage and strength to overcome it. The wind has helped me with that now and I'm very grateful for it.\u201c\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201eDifferent is good,\u201c Konrad said and hugged him. And as Spinnfried stood there, deeply touched, Mira, the bog spider who loved to dance, arrived, and then there was Theo, the tunnel-building beetle, and Lotte, the sheet-web spider who liked to spin her webs on trees.\n <\/p>\n

\n Everyone wants to hear Spinnfried's story. They sit together in the garden and listen to Spinnfried. As he tells of the lonely days and weeks, and the indescribable courage it took for him to finally dare to embrace something new.\n <\/p>\n

\n And one more thing: The children from the house where Spinnfried lives have also gotten to know him long ago. At first, they were a bit cautious \u2013 after all, many thought that spiders were uncanny or creepy. But when they saw how friendly Spinnfried is, and how beautifully his webs shimmered, they were also enthusiastic.\n <\/p>\n

\n So not only Spinnfried lost his fear \u2013 the children also learned that spiders are not monsters, but peaceful, artful, and quite brave little creatures. And from that day on, Spinnfried is never alone again. He shows everyone his webs, learns from the others, and even spins beautiful works of art with his new friends. His friends show him the wonderful garden and go on excursions with him so he can discover much more of the big world. And Spinnfried also encourages his new friends to visit him at his home in Tyrol again and again. Because so many wonderful new friendships have developed. So Spinnfried now looks forward to each new day. Whether it rains or the sun shines.\n <\/p>\n

\n And you know what? Spinnfried is so happy that he's not even knitting an eighth sock. Not out of fear, but so he can remember how brave he was.\n <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n
